Well , it seems that one of my kids figured out how to delete programs on my pc . Is there any way that I can get my sound card back ?

    Yes... update your drivers.
Go to your soundcard mfg's site. They should have them available there.

Might be in windows XP ? Mine usually shows if I uninstall my printer when & restart. Says it found new hardware, you could do a seach for new hardware. Maybe hit "My Computer " rt click, then properties & hardware manager or something it's called. Has all the drivers in the computer, so just ask it to find one for it.

Do what Jim said, and remove it. If it's a "standard" type of chipset on the card, XP should redetect and reinstall the drivers automatically on the next reboot.

If it doesn't, you'll need to do what RL said and hit the mfg's site and download/install them manually.
