That was right close to me but I've never heard of them and I suppose they must be out of business? Can't find anything on them on the net. Anybody know any history on this company?

Only way I even knew of these is my fishing partner and neighbors father-in-law John an avid Muskie fisherman at Leesville Lake used to swear by these. Here’s an old forum post about them, the only info I’ve ever found on them!

Maybe the Silver Buddy was the knock off. My cousin and I used to hunt on some property owned by a Lucky Lemon, and I believe he was from the Canton area. I never knew him, but I believe he pssed away about 10-15 years ago? Can’t be too many Lucky Lemons in Canton Ohio.

Lucky used to fish Berlin a lot. We used to buy the Blanks from him. He lived in Louisville, and had a press in his basement. I still have some of his original blanks. The silver buddy's followed when he stopped making them, (Soon after his divorce, so I heard.)

My neighbor, his deceased father in law John and myself are also from Louisville. I’m sure John knew him also, he fished Berlin and Leesville a lot and swore by these blades. Neighbor and I still use them a lot! You’re a lucky man hatteras to still have some of these! Always in our Saugeye and Muskie arsenal! Oops! 🤫

This is my favorite blade for jigging through the ice on Erie! Looks similar to the Silver Lucky!

Well thank you sir! ✌
I bought some from Lucky at the Cleveland Sport's Show at the I-X center in the early '90's. They worked great for Walleyes through the ice when the fish were agressively feeding. I switched to mostly using Swedish Pimples because the fish were not always hot enough to bite on them every day. I needed something smaller for my customers to use when I was guiding on the ice at Put-in-Bay to entice fish even on days when they were lethargic. I still have most of them in one of my ice tackle boxes, but don't use them. I painted some of them orange because the ones that I have were all chartruese. While some people like to fish Sonars and other blade baits naked, the lures swim fine even when they are loaded up with whole shiners.

My father always had some of those in his tackle box. He got them from someone he worked with. Never said who though. We used them on the Ohio river for sauger. I have a doit mold that looks pretty similar.

Remember those well. Would use Silver Lucky's in Ladue for eyes and crappie while referring to Bob Tomasko's Learn-a-lake map/tapes. Would head to the pads and fish with Barney Baits for bass if we got bored. Also, late summer/fall trips to Miller Road park in Avon Lake when the power plant was running to cast off the cliff with agitators and Maggie Jigs for buckets of big white bass. Seemed like a lot more local lure makers and information providers back then.

Many at the sport show when held in the old convention center downtown. Made the annual trip to the show worthwhile for picking up locally provided baits along with some from other regions. Would save up for months leading up to the show. Another casualty of the internet.
