Finally brought home a few Saugeye. Still caught about 14 under the 15" limit and released. Water was 66 degrees in the morning. Between 8:30am and 2:00pm the fish bite was best 11:30 - 1:00. Found that a snap-jerky retrieve triggered more bites than anything else and slow trolling didn't work at all.

Between 11:30 and 1:00 there was a nice breeze that put a chop on the water
and bites started coming faster. 6'-10' deep off ledges and along drop offs.

Good job. I'll be there next Saturday looking for saugeye. Hopefully do good. Been a long time coming.

Had really good luck ripping and dropping a small Vibe and a small/shallow running crank bait. Kind didn't seen to matter, just better luck on a shad color that would reach 6'-8' deep. 3"=4" plug size.
Lost several Vibe's snagged but they worked best - silver flake color.

The white bass were relentless bitters and fun to catch. Focused most of our time in the area of the dam spillway stretch and sunken island. The Saugyey seemed to be mixed with the white bass. Lot's of shorts (14")but the saugeye
did hit hard. We found them suspended not far from the launch out in front of the roadside park across the whole dam area. It was the jerk/slack action like Dragline said that worked best.
