Scioto Catfish

Discussion in 'Catfish Discussion' started by marinescco, Aug 30, 2007.

  1. Just wondering if anyone has had any luck with fishing for cat in the Scioto north of Columbus? I went the other night and hit a few spots along the bank and didn't get any bites or anything. Just wondering if anyone can offer any help. Thanks

If you are going on the bank up there it can be tough, I would try Belpoint (rt 42 and the river about 6 miles N of Home rd.) area and cast out into the main river near the old bridge, I have done well up there, using Shad and liver. Good Luck

yea, some shad up at oshanessey works everytime. Last time I caught a channel on some cut shad, it came out to be a 13 pounder.

  4. Thanks for the info guys. I do appreciate it. I was just south of there a couple of nights ago and kept getting snagged. Is the water deeper up there? Do you find bobber fishing to be better?

Its hard to say, I get snagged up a lot, even with bobber fishing. Just keep trying.
