saugeye fishing?

Discussion in 'Central Ohio Fishing Reports' started by ocdfishguy, Dec 7, 2004.

  1. HI, I am new to the site and new to fishing for saugeyes, I mostly fish at Griggs for cats. Do I use plastic or live bait, spinners or crank baits. I work nights so I do most of my fishing on Fri. and Sat. morning. Any information would help greatly. Thanks in advance.

Do a search for saugeye and you'll find more than enough info. I don't have any answers for ya as I am learning to fish for them myself. I know they use some cranks, minnows and jigs with or without minnows. Vibe's as well as shadraps. As far as size and color I'd have to let someone else answer that.

  3. I'm fairly new to fishing Griggs and O'Shay but i've been using the larger size Husky Jerks and Rogues. 4 1/2 inch and up. Also been using twistertails in a variety of colors. RatLTraps have produced some eyes for me to. Good luck. Maybe I'll run into you down there sometime.

    Welcome to the site!

We have been catching them on crankbaits. Grubs work too.
