Dovans - I did not log into the reservation site to look, but i know some of the campgrounds (a few up in NW OH anyway) go to their winter camping on Oct 1st. They close down all but maybe 1 loop of the campground and it is walk-up only, no reservations.

  5. I was able to make reservations. According to Salt Fork website, they stay open year round but they do walk ups sometime in Oct. Supposedly they start lowering Salt Fork end of Oct.

Good for trailer camping. Sucks for tenting. Be warned. --Tim

Same thing is happening everywhere Dovans. Just booked northern MI for end of July. I wanted Platte River but it is booked, then I tried Petoskey... Booked. Finally got one of the two remaining sites at wilderness state park. The image of hooking up the camper and hitting the open road is no longer. You can take it anywhere, but that doesn't mean you have a place to camp when you get there.

We tried to get Ludington and Platte River as well. Both were filled up. Did manage to get our favorite spot right on the lake at Hudson though.
