Salt Fork water clarity

Discussion in 'Southeast Ohio Fishing Reports' started by jshbuckeye, Jun 30, 2008.

  1. Was just wondering what the water at Salt Fork was looking like with allof this rain we have had as of late?

  2. Is there any water left in Salt Fork?

The last time I was there was a couple weeks ago... but it was right after a rain. Visibility was 1.5-2' and was slightly off colored with a green tint. I doubt that it will be bad with a couple days of decent weather coming between now and the weekend.

  4. I fished Saltfork this morning. Got my boots wet getting my boat in as the water is up about 2 feet and rising. Thats not bad with all the rain we've had. The water temp is holding around 77-78 and the shallow ends of the lake are extra muddy but I'd thought it would be worse.

    I caught 3 saugeye dinks , 4 White Bass-small, dozen channel cats-small,
3- 9" Crappie and a Bluegill in 3 hours 5:30am till 8:30am. Fished before work.
I fished the old Saltfork marina area with jigs and jerk baits.
