I went recently to check it out with my yak.
Unfortunately they don't allow them but they do rent boats and electric trollers.
I fished the shore for a bit and caught a few 10's and 1 around 12 at the bridge.
There is a boathouse there and you'll need to stop in and pay.
The receipt is your permit. (i think it was 5 bucks)
Not a ton of shore fishing access but the lake looked in
nice shape and was moderately clear water.
If your planning a day there i'd bring your own battery and trolling motor and rent a boat.
It looks like a nice little body of water to fish in. If your planning on shore fishing i'd
move on down the road.
No, no canoes or kayaks. I argued for a bit and even called
the parks and recreation department to see if i could weasel some special
permissions. He was nice about it (i was instigating) and the liability
is to great to the city of Salem. I won't go into the details
but his reasoning was sound, unlike Aqua Ohio's.
