Waiting for the tap tap.
I hit R.R. for the first time today. Beautiful to look at but I found it to be kind of a pain to navigate. Clearly if one was familiar it would be easier but I ended up kind of frustrated dodging tree stumps with my trolling motor. The water was pretty muddy from all the rain. Still the visiblity wasn't too bad- on a good day I imagine the water is very clear. I saw a dozen or so groups of bass frye being protected by some big ones all over the lake- mostly out away from the banks near flooded trees (what else!). I caught three small bass and one trout on a crankbait. Very pretty little lake but I am not sure I will go back. The few guys I talked to said it gets fished pretty hard. Plus the place is loaded with grass carp- and I would definately say they have gone above and beyond the call of duty- I don't recall seeing any grass in that lake.
