What size boat are you using ? Are you coming from the east or west ? 18ft. and under boat I would use Cranberry Creek. From Rt. 2 take the Exit to Rt. 61 head North on Rt. 61 it will dead end into Rt. 6 take a right. Cranberry Creek Marina is a couple miles down the road on the left hand side. You will be on the smallies in a matter of minutes if you launch from Cranberry. Check out the links below.

If you are using a 18 ft. plus boat put in at Walski's ($5). Exit on Rt.13(Main St.) off of Rt. 2. Head North into town, you will cross the railroad tracks and take a right at the first light Rt.6(Cleveland Rd.) look for the gravel road (less than 1/8 of a mile after the turn) leading down to the Huron River on your right handside past Vacationland Realty office. If you go across the bridge you went too far. If you launch here it is approximately 5 miles to Ruggles Reef.

Right at the entrance to Cranberry I have hit bottom.
It is sand so it is no real problem, but don't rev the engine here.

My personal settings out of Cranberry show 31 degrees magnetic, 1.20 statute miles to Ruggles Reef, if there is such a thing.
