Route 4 accident near New Moorefield

  1. Just wanted to touch on the mention of the accident at route 4 on another thread. I grew up on that block, and there have been at least 20 accidents at that intersection during my lifetime. Several fatalities. No fatalities yesterday, but care flight did land on route 4 to take a motorcycle biker to the hospital.

My family has been begging the county to put a traffic light there for years, but they will not do it. And the accidents just continue...

If you are headed to Buck Creek for the WB run and need to past that intersection, be cautious. The accident yesterday involved a car turning and a motorcycle slamming full speed into it from the rear. You think it shouldn't have ever happened...right? Something is screwy with the angle of the road and that whole intersection.

    USE CAUTION at that intersection.

  2. I used to live up in that direction - couldn't agree more. I never cared much for passing through that area.
Nobody seems willing to pay attention to the road any more.
