Rotten Transom

Discussion in 'Boats and Motors' started by Dracos, Mar 20, 2005.

  1. Anyone have experience replacing a rotten transom? I was looking at something called "seacast" but I was wondering if anyone knew of a place in NE Ohio that would replace the tramsom or had any cheaper ideas.

    Thanx!

  2. Hey Buddy, I'm glad you signed up and welcome to the boards! I hope that someone here can help answer your question about your transom.

Everyone, I've been in his boat before. It will still hold a small motor but the material is weak and soft. Not sure how to fix it myself...

  3. What material of construction is your boat?

What size main motor will you mount?

    Where are you located?

  4. ncraft150

    ncraft150 Buckeye-Basser

  5. 16 Ft fiberglass.
    Near Canton Ohio.
I plan to go up to a 45hp ( the limit of the boat ) but will prob have a 10hp on it most of the time.

I was hoping to just cut out the rotten wood and put some new pressure treated wood back in.. I will go check out that site. Thanx!

  6. Near canton I would call Karg fiberglass in middlebranch or louisville automarine on 153. If they cannot do it they will know who can. Both do good work alot cheaper than a regular marina.
