    I was just wondering is there a cure for ice on your rod tip? dont cross the river if you cant swim the tide { America}

    Chapstick works sweet. I just goop up the tip before heading out into freezing conditions

  3. I use a spray shortening like Pam. Just spray all the eyelets.

    i use rain-x with a q-tip to apply it the day before i go out. My net freezes stiff, my fingers get cold, but my line never catches on an eyelet :)

    try to use a rod with bigger guides. It wont cure it but it helps.
  6. I as told by some steelheaders to spray silicon on the eyes of the rod. I don't know how well it works though.

    go to rod makers or try to do it your self, put a bigger eye on your tip, like soap said, its not a cure, but it helps alot when u have ice on line.
  8. Treat your line with fly line dressing (floatant) helps along with treating the guides. It helps repell water. No water, no ice.
