Rod Rack

Discussion in 'Tackle Talk' started by Shortdrift, Sep 27, 2005.

  1. Made this out of scrap crating wood. One by fours would be ideal. I made it in two sections so it could be easily moved. Took about four hours to make and holds 22 rods
  2. So far it looks good :)

  3. A couple roller casters would make it real easy to move ;) I need to make me one :)

i still like that, ron.almost built one after the first time i saw it.
i think theonly change i'd make, would be to add a piece on the underside of the bottom support,to keep the rods off the floor, making it easier to move.

sweet ron i made the same type of holders except i attached them to the floor joist in the basment so there on the ceiling away from the little kids hands works sweet. Great job ron.

    well done, looks very professional.
  8. I built one like that 3 years ago-they are great-only I had to build two more for all my rods/reels! :D

lewis, that would make for a great housewarming gift from a "thoughtful" friend :D ;)
  11. I made something very similar for the back of my truck since I don't have much rod storage space on my boat. I used some insulation on the inside of the wood where it would come into contact with the rods. You can buy the kind that has adhesive on the back so it will stick and your rods won't get nicked up.

  12. I don't ever want to put my rods away.

Oh yeah, I like the idea of having the rods up on the ceiling in the basement. Many thanks for passing along that idea!
