Got out last night 5/23 around 5pm to 8:30pm and it was calm and buggy. Went NE of river and trolled west. Started around 47ft but had good marks from 51 to 43 feet. Ended up with 3 keeper eyes 18-22", one perch and one white bass both on spoons. The lure that caught all the eyes was reef runner color chrome frog, 900 series. When I got out there, fish were in the 30-45 foot range. Marked all the mayflies in the 10-15 foot range. Trolling inline boards 100ft back no weights is what got 2 of them. Did troll in close at sunset and got the last one in 17 feet by mouth of river. A lot of guys trolling around there. Also guys doing good around the crib from what I heard on radio. Water temp was 59-60 degrees.
Good Luck

Sounds good. What was the program with the reef runner? Are those deep diving plugs? Must have not been very deep if you caught the last one in 17 ft. Its a puzzle sometimes...only one particular program seems to be producing. If you can replicate that with other lines you are good. Not me. I usually only have one of each lure.

Yeah, unfortunately I only have one color when it comes to stick baits too. Lol. I was just thinking I may have to buy another one.
I had all the other ones 100 back like that one and no luck. With that color, it has black dots on it so was thinking maybe other ones with dots would be ticket too but no luck. Had to be that color. The 900 series says it trolls to 28 feet deep which is impressive. I thought since it went deeper maybe that was the reason and added weight to the deep bandits/husky jerks but didn’t get anything. Or maybe it was the rattles in the bait that called them in.
When I was in 17 feet I only had it back 50 feet. Didn’t want to lose my hot lure. Lol

The best way to catch a lot of fish on a particular crankbait is to only have 1 of them.

My experience has been that as soon as I put out a 2nd bait of the hot color it shuts that color off completely🤣. It has happened enough times that I have a rule on the boat. Similar color patterns are ok, but not 2 of the exact same color and bait!

For sure .

Or to find one floating . We have a rule that if you find one floating while fishing it automatically goes on . Several times it's happened and the found bait hammered fish.
