Question about a motor kill switch also got some new toys on the boat today!

    Fish4Fun Relaxing.

    Hey lake raider or anyone, how can i put a kill switch on a 20hp electric start tiller motor incase i fall out of the boat or something, never know what could happen.

    Got my minnkota power drive bow mount on today, along with a new fishfinder and some new lights. Leaving for chicago tomorrow and then when i get back wed night its time to fish fish fish............

    LakeRaider EEEEEK!

    The kill switch works like this. The kill switch grounds both ends of the capacitor when the switch is moved to the off position. This reroutes the stored voltage from its intended path to the ignition coil and sends it to an engine ground, thereby "killing" the ignition so the spark plugs "cannot" fire. A black and yellow wire usually identifies this circuit.
