Pymatuning last week

  1. Stayed at the OH state park cabins Sat 6/28 - Sat 7/5. Five days of rain out of 7. The good news: The crappie are huge and plentiful in the south end where I was staying. Caught over a dozen FO's up to 15" with the average size around 11"-12". Bad news: Zero walleye. Gave up after 5 days of pounding them hard. All of my go to spots that used to produce walleye are now giving up an endless supply of small perch.

ps. Duck & Drake is closed for the season. Birch's Landing (across the street) has real nice crawlers and a generous minnow count.

  2. I went a couple times last week too and its soooo hard keeping a nightcrawler on your hook because before a walleye even sees it the perch done took it. there is TONS of perch. seriously everyone needs to keep as many perch from pymy as possible because they EXPLODED!!!!!!
