Forgot to post back in the fall. My Llewellin's first hunt. Went to WR Hunt Club. Called ahead and had birds set. Upon arrival, we get out of the truck and the owner says, you didn't tell me you had a Setter. I laughed and said "didn't think it mattered". Well it did lol! Never seen a dog with so many sticky burrs or whatever you call them on the dog. Anyways, pup did great and my boys had a great time.

Buy a spray bottle of “show sheen” and moisten the pup with it and work it into his fur. It will make his coat softer and
Slick. He won’t get as many burrs and the ones he gets will comb out much easier. It’s made for horse manes. I buy mine at rural king. I prefer the pump bottle.

I did just that and it worked like a charm.

Yep great hunt with my sons. Had Pointers before this Setter and didn't have to worry about burrs too much.

I used to shave my springer down every year before season. We got into them once grouse hunting that I had to cut them out of his leg pits so he could move his legs again.
Use to spend a whole night brushing those dang things out- I’ll never forget the way he looked at me after a while of brushing.

After every hunt I spend forever cleaning burs out of my llew's coat and still find them on the couch and in the carpet for about a week
