I have hunted Ohio Power AEP land the last dozen years and camp at the campgrounds but I am curious about hunting Wayne N.F. -Monroe or Washington Counties east of Marrietta. I know I can camp anywhee in the forrest, does anyone know if the deer hunting is OK, does it get too crowded or of any areas or roads I could start scouting from.

Thanks any advice would be appreciated.

  2. I am up in the Nelsonville area and have been hunting Wayne National Forest land all fall. I've seen deer in my area, shot one, and not too much hunter activity. When gun season rolls around all bets are off, but for now I think that you should be able to find a area with little to no pressure where you can get in on some good hunting and a good shot at a deer.

If you run into other hunters look for areas that are up a steep hill or more than 500 yards of the road or trails and you should be clear of the majority of hunters except the diehards, and they seem few and far between.

As for specific areas, I have not been in that area before.

    Good luck!
