While recuperating from surgery I've been taking the kids fishing to a pond that belongs to the song leader at church. Here's a couple pics. The first one is my daughter Emily with a bluegill (shell cracker maybe?). It was the biggest one they caught that night, I didn't have the scale or rule so no measurements. The pic doesn't do the fish justice. The second pic is a friend of theirs and he caught this crappie just as we were getting ready to leave. It measured 12.5" and 1.2# caught on a night crawler. The first night we were there my daughter caught a gill about 6-7 inches and it was bleeding but it didn't seem to be hooked bad we put it back in the water but it surfaced shortly after and started floating. Andrew took his pole tip and tried to make it move and just as he did that a fish (pretty sure it was a bass) engulfed the gill. First time I had ever seen that happen to bad I didn't have the camera rolling .
