pontoon transducer mounting

    ...looking for ideas for mounting a transducer on an older pontoon . I don't want to attach it to the trolling moter since that isn't always down. We're currently running it off a 2x4 board c-clamped to the outside of the boat. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
     
  2. You can find a welder that welds aluminum and have him weld a piece off the back of your toon and mount it on that piece like the new pontoons are.
     

  3. I believe Cabela's also sells a transducer holder for pontoons. It would be less of a drag than your current board. Then, when it's out of the water I also suggest you have a bracket welded on. Mine is on the starboard pontoon.

    Thanks for the suggestions. I checked out Cabelas on-line and found the transducer bracket fo the 'toons. Looks like something I can fabricate pretty easily. Not too sure about the aluminum welding idea, I need to get to a boat dealer to check out the new ones... not many dealers in Hilliard.
