I'm only addressing the ad on this page and the hypocrisy of saying no politics but clearly this page is showing a particular candidate saying "you're full of S&%#".

Does this mean some political discussions are now permitted or is this a do as we say,not as we do kinda thing?

Hmmm, I’ve never seen any ads like that. Wonder if it has as much to do with what type of device you are viewing this site on.

Different ads target different people through algorithms and cookies. I often get ads from car guru as I've been searching for a new pickup.

But CLEARLY this page allows political ads....

Also, you may have just answered your own question. It’s possible you visit political sites or maybe look at a lot of them on FB or other social media. I only say this because I was on Amazon earlier today looking at new smart phones and my OGF is full of amazon ads and smartphone ads as we speak.

I realized when I signed up for this free website I was not going to be able to talk politics. Regardless of the pop up ads. Because it clearly states in the tos not to talk politics.
If I remember how it was explained last time right, the mods dont have much if any control of the ads. But I'm not sure.
Just ignore them maybe.

It has to do with your search or browsing history...ads are associated with that kind of thing...that is NOT a site ad.
It is a site ad that pays this site for click.

Ads cannot be on a site unless authorized.

Also I never do any political searching online,I'm not on FB and only follow a few "news and information sources" on youtube.

Yep...been checking out various places for rifle scopes. Guess what my last advertisement was...Midway USA having their 24hr Camo Tuesday hunting sale showing various scopes.
The one before that was from Cabela's..

At least you're not cruising the porn sites.;)

Ehhh, my panties ain't all that ruffled.
I just have problems with the internet and tech censorship of the common folk while they can say what they wish to turn a profit.

Truly looking forward to section 230 reform, it's well overdue

It isn't all based on your search history. I get ads for stuff I definitely have never searched for.

You don't have to search anything, it collects from viewed pages also...just normal browsing of the internet alone will do it...wouldn't have to be anything that you looked up...could even be through an email or something like that...

I don't do email (have one but haven't even looked at it in atleast 6 months) and only places I go on this laptop is three fishing sites, Home Depot and ME TV. Yet So far today have had an ad for a cell phone, a come to someplace for vacation (think it may have been Myrtle Beach), and some sort of home gym thing.
