i usually reckon how much gas i'm gonna add and dump in the 2cycle oil 1st, then the gas..... since its about a 2 hour drive to the ramp i figger the road will mix it up.... am i wrong? how SHOULD i do it? my merc died on me last year and i'm still not sure why. now that i finally got a running motor i want to make sure i'm fueling right!

that's how i usually do it.sometimes give it a few shakes after filling, but the gas does a good job of mixing.never had a problem yet.

ps..............my motor is almost 30 years old and still strong as new.

I would do the same thing pour the oil in (guess how much room you have for gas) and then shoot the gas from the pump in. never had a problem

life is much easer these days. now I just I take the gas can from the lawn mower and fill the boats gas tank. 4 stroke for the win

I have about the same layout as you and I do it the same way.
