I went down the the GMR in West Carrolton today and a single engine plane had crashed right by the entrance to the dam at 10:30 a.m. I talked to a Miami Conservancy district worker and he said he saw it happen. Said the plane was sputtering and it started diving and then the wind grabbed it and he said it looked like it was thrown into a telephone pole. One person was dead and another is in the hospital last I heard. Apparentally it was a couple from Connecticut flying to Nevada. Prayers go out to all the family and friends. If anyone wondered the Conservancy worker said the highway patrol wouldn't let them open the gates today because there are plane pieces scattered. He said it would be definitely be open tomorrow.
