Pere Marquette Short Report

Discussion in 'Fish on the Fly' started by Salmonid, Oct 4, 2004.

  1. Fished last Friday, sat and early Sunday, caught many fish, this week is predicted peak of Salmon, 4 of us fair hooked about a dozen fish, best fish 39" male, Lots of jacks in the river, for us, most fish at Claybanks, Flies only held lots of graveling fish, darker and lower access, Taylor Rd had fish Friday, but Sat and Sunday didnt have as many, the rain on Fri Night and 26 degree morning temps are bringing in more as we speak. No coho's or steelies seen.
All fish taken on roe colored Nuke Eggs, TMC 105 #10/#8 hooks. Red Thread.
Water is clear and 6# and 8# flourocarbon really helped. By the way, we "nymphed" all our fish, dont like the CnD method.

  2. I love the P.M. but have not been up for about 4 years, thanks for the report sounds like a great trip. I like to camp at Gleasons Landing when I go up there.
