What is the best way, if there is a way, for long term storage of an outboard? I upgraded to a 25hp and do not want to get rid of my 9.9hp. It is a good running motor so I want to keep it for hp resticted lakes and for a backup. Any thoughts guys?

i would just flush out the cooling system, fog the cylinders with fogging oil. drain the fuel system.

If you can practice pulling the motor over once a month, all I would do is drain ALL the GAS and spray some gun oil into each cylinder, loosely re-install the plugs and pull it over two or three times. I did this with my 57 Johnson for several years and it started on the third pull after 10 years and a new set of plugs.
