Tough day of fishing yesterday. Water was muddy for some reason. Another fisherman said it was from the water level change and the winds. Couldn't seem to locate the saugeyes, BUT our saving grace was Muskeye landing a 29" 16.8 # flathead, in the reservoir on an extreme drop-off from 17' to 32' with a whistler jig tipped with a bass minnie. Way to go Rick. It was a long tough fight on the light spinning tackle.

  2. bass fishing was tough there on Sunday. I say crank all day... try a little off the bank. 6-10 feet.

Yeah, that was part of our repertoir. We kept alternating between various jigs and canks, worked our way south from the girl's school and then tried the flats in front of twin lakes entrance, tried trolling cranks and harnesses too. Then hit the east side. Jigged and cranked our way back up almost to the boat docks. Maybe we should have been north of the bridge???
By the way, good job on the Whittier Ramp clean-up. I work by there, and the effort is truly appreciated by those of us who care. Too bad so many people that fish there think THEIR trash won't matter.
