I am thinking of making the 1 hour trip to clear fork for crappie. I was just wondering what everyone's opinion of the lake is. At Alum Creek I've really mainly been catching small crappie and Delaware has been a disappointment for me this year except for one time.

We fished it a few times last year and mostly caught small fish. Up around the dam you should be able to find large schools suspended. Caught a few decent fish but not many slow trolling. Didn’t fish it this year so don’t know if they’ve grown up some or not.

I fish Clearfork a lot. I don't target crappie there, but I never hear or see of anyone pulling out big ones there. Not saying it can't happen, but that lake is not known for big crappie. It is very well known for big bass and musky. If I wanted to get into some nice crappie, my top 3 choices in north central Ohio would be #1 - Delaware #2 - Hoover #3 Alum Creek
