COLUMBUS, OH - Women interested in learning more about outdoor skills such as hunting, boating, archery, fishing and firearms are invited to register for the popular Becoming an Outdoors-Woman workshop to be held Friday, September 30 through Sunday, October 2, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Wildlife.

“Women looking for new ways to enjoy the outdoors will find that this program offers many great opportunities.” said Jen Dennison, the program’s coordinator. “We welcome women of all skill levels to come join us at our next Becoming an Outdoors-Woman workshop.”

Becoming an Outdoors-Woman is a national program designed to introduce women to a variety of outdoor skills in a comfortable, non-competitive environment. The introductory-level classes include firearms and safety, canoeing and kayaking, hunting, photography, archery, fishing, and much more. Participants must be at least 18 years old.

The annual workshop is held in the fall at Recreation Unlimited in Ashley, about one hour north of Columbus in Delaware County. For a registration form, visit the ODNR website or call 1-800-WILDLIFE.
