Old State Park 1/21/08

Discussion in 'Hard Water Discussions' started by Big Daddy, Jan 21, 2008.

  1. Saw one guy out on it, setting up tip ups. He said there was a good 3 to 3 1/2 inches where he was... He did NOT venture out into the middle of the bay there. As I was leaving, another gentleman was showing up with his gear.

Should be absolutely PRIME by this weekend! Looks SLICK as all heck though. Wear your creepers!!!

    See you on the ice!

He was probably in training for the Portage Lakes Polar Bear dive in on February 16th at the State Park Launch Ramp off Manchester RD. LOL

  4. Same as Big Daddy's Report on Old State Park:

    Ice is 3 1/2"
3 guys ice-fishing, catching dink gills in 6-7' depth
Ice is solid, crystal clear, like a mirror, extremely slick (you'll need ice
    creepers)
Middle of the bay is still unsafe.
I'll be fishing on it Tuesday.
