Discussion in 'Northeast Ohio Fishing Reports' started by saintmathew, Oct 14, 2004.

  1. DATE:

    8:00:00 AM to 12:00:00 PM

On the Grand River, at Helen Hazen Wyman Park in the Lake Metro Park system. The park is located on the south side of Painesville on St. Rt. 86.

Les Ober will begin the seminar at with a general introduction spending 30 to 45 minutes going over equipment, spin fishing techniques, and fly fishing techniques. After that the group goes out on the river to discuss reading water and locating steelhead. If the fish cooperate you will learn how to land and handle the fish once they are hooked.

This is an Ohio Central Basin Steelheaders event, but all guests are welcome to our seminars and club meetings. This event, in particular, is the BEST thing for all NEWBIES to Steelhead fishing. It is free and you get the chance to be instructed for half the day by an experienced Steelhead angler who will be teaching fly and spin fishing techniques. The K.I.S.S. event is something to look into as well. Both events are VERY helpful for the new Steelheader. Please take the time to check this out. Email or PM me if you have any questions on the event.

Joing a club is the best way togo if you want to learn more about Trout or Salmon fishing. You do not have to know everything about the sport, just have a willingness to get involved. To get more info on joining O.C.B.S, please attend this event or come to any meeting. Our next meeting is:

Oct. 28th at The Ampol Club from 7:30-9:30.
We will have 2 guest speakers who will be speaking on many topics, including one on center pin float fishing for Steelhead. You can also join online by clicking here:

    Thanx for listening!
