There is a state dock on the Portage River in Port Clinton. Put in there, hang a right and go under the train bridge, motor over under the next bridge (Rt 2), and its on your left.

They also have a ramp there.

I heard it's a free for all up there. They have a stranglehold on the crappie. If you see Fred Bear, tell him I said Hi.

EricAngler, how close is that ramp you are talking about to Nugent's? I only have a 40 lb thrust trolling motor... Is it too far away for me to motor over there?

The state dock to nugents would be too far for an electric, in my opinion. I think Nugents ramp is private, but I'm not sure.
