Norwalk Resevoir

Discussion in 'Northeast Ohio Fishing Reports' started by Shari B, Sep 18, 2004.

  1. Hey Folks!

Moving to Norwalk, Ohio in a couple of days. Anyone ever fish that res., or other areas close by? Could sure use the help.

    Thanks, Shari B :)
  2. Shari, I don't know much about Norwalk Resevoir, but the Willard resevoir is pretty good. It's probably 20-25 minutes max from Norwalk. Lots of catfish and perch there. You're also pretty close to Sandusky so you can fish the shoreline of Erie. It's a little different than around the Cleveland area.

  3. Shari~
Fished it some years ago and got some nice bass. Also crappie and northern pike in the early spring (right after ice out). Small boats are permitted with proper permit. (obtained at the city hall). There are two reservoirs. You should have some nice days there.
    Good luck.
  4. You do not need a permit to boat Norwalk.
You do need a permit to water fowl hunt it.
it is 3 lakes tied in by spill ways and channels.
You can truck fish it in most of the lake, just pull up to the edge of the water, cast a line and sit on the tailgate till the rod takes off to the water.
I fish it often,It has the full gambit of fish in it.
Also a great place to picnic, cookout. Grills are provided there.
    No gas motors aloud.
  5. Thanks for the help. Anyone know if and when they might stock this res. with rainbows?
