Maybe IÕm just trying too hard to kill two birds with one stone (get that rock bass some more respect and coin a new term), but I like it for a couple reasons. 1) like the rock bass it they are not glamorous (except around thanksgiving when everyone looks forward to those recipes coming out of the woodwork (literally)). 2) a large rock bass has about (but not quite)the same volume as a large yam (that would be one nice rockie!) maybe IÕm not giving it enough credit? Can someone think of something slightly larger than a yam that fits its ÒpersonalityÓ? while we are on the topic: slabs Ð large crappies (perhaps used for large gills, etc at times?) sowbelly Ð large (spawning) largemouth football Ð a very large smallie dinks Ð small fish of any species. spikes Ð see dinks. I know IÕm missing some here, please clue me in! I guess I just want to someday be able to say "went out last saturday caught 3 slabs, 2 yams, and a football!"
