so I follow the OGF threads close and I see Ashtabula is hot. Guys are sayin 42/10, so I take off work and run solo beatin the waves this morning. realize that the gas tank is half full so I layup at 42/06. 3 oz double willows 135 back 1.8 troll with the wind. get one rod in the water and it takes off. Monster. gets to the boat. shakes the harness loose. double back around. ziltch. next 3 hours. nada. not sure what I am doing wrong. that was my first solo trip, now officially hooked.:)

Just need to find the active fish they are there!!! Change baits and speeds till they tell you what they want...We Been slaughtering them all year. Stick with it you'll get them

The fish are deep now. Periodically cut the throttle long enough to let your lines sink a bit, then put it back in gear and pull the baits up through the fish. "S" turns will do the same thing on the inside baits. If you connect, lengthen your leads.
