This past Sunday the N.E.W.C. held their second event for the 2009 season on Oneida Lake, in New York State.

Mother nature cooperated with calm steady conditions during the event, but with the lake being a little behind schedule for this year, the anglers were forced to use all their skills and versatillity to produce the limits of fish needed to win this event.

Two veteran N.E.W.C. anglers Terry Zampogna and Tim Moonan were able to adjust in a big way on sunday, when the fish they had located the day before the event within 1 1/2 miles from the launch (and weighing between 18 - 19 pounds for 5 fish) wouldn't cooperate, they took a big gamble, and ran to the far end of the lake, and completely changed programs to catch their winning fish basket of over 13 pounds.

While several local top teams really struggled to catch their limit of fish, others dialed in to what the fish were keying on that day, and reported catching many walleye's.

The real race was for second thru fourth place with mere ounces seperating them.

In second place was D. Smith and D. Smith, third place Bill and Linda Greczyn, fourth place D. Peschler and G. Peschler, and fifth place J. Mitchell and N. Derr.

There was 12 limits brought to the scale during a tuff bite, with several 3 plus pounders, but Bill and Linda Greczyn captured the Big fish for the event weighing in at 4.97 pounds.

The winners recieved $2,100 for their victory, and the big fish paid $540.00 along with the sponsored plaques and $50.00 in Gift cards from Boat works, and Gander Mountain.

The top 5 teams all recieved plaques along with prize money, and several anglers recieved some nice door prizes from Off Shore Tackle, Reef Runner Tackle, W.R. Case and Sons Cutlery Company, and Dematt Overhead Crane Service.
