My first muskie!

I went to Alum Creek Lake to do some night time carping. Since I arrived early, I decided to throw a lure or two for whatever would bite. I tied on a 1/6 th oz black roostertail and was retrieving it pretty fast over some weeds. Then it struck. At first I thought I had a pretty decent bass on, but then I saw I had hooked a small muskie. He was only about 20" and probably weighed close to 3 lbs. Yes, I know that it was small, but I was thrilled nonetheless. He put up a decent fight for his size. I would have snapped a photo of him, but my camera was in the car and I didn't want to keep him out of the water for too long. He had a very old scar that ran on both sides across the back. Apparently, when he was younger, he may have escaped death from some other toothy fish. The fish was released unharmed.

p.s. I caught zero carp and had to leave at 1 am when the storms arrived.
