I spoke to a fellow member recently and he mentioned to modify the mounting screws for the motor. I cannot remember if he said to tighten or loosen them for longer life of the motor. Anyone familiar with this?
I use a Protor Silex kitchen electrice knife which cost about 1/3 of the price of the electic knives that are targeted for fish. All the replacement blades made by rapala, berkley, etc fit in it and I'm going on 4 years with this one. The motor runs "faster" too which is nice when getting through those rib bones on bigger fish.
