Discussion in 'Central Ohio Fishing Reports' started by mountaindew, May 27, 2004.

  1. Going down there for camping late June. Any good place to fish around there, around Mohican River, or other ponds, or rivers?

Pleasant Hill Lake is within the boundaries of the State Park. Also the river itself offers pretty decent fishing, depending on the areas you choose to fish it.The area around the covered bridge, and a little ways downstream of the bridge has pretty good fishing for trout and maybe a saugeye or two.If you want to try for smallmouth's,I would try well below the Rt.3 bridge. If you want to try some pond fishing,Malabar Farm SP is close by.They have 4 or 5 ponds that you can fish, the one that sits right in front of the big house has some large bass.Other area lakes that are fairly close to Mohican are,Knox,Charles Mill and Shreve, all are open to the public.Hope this helps you out.
