Modern day fish finder

  1. A friend at work pointed out that you can get satellite images of any area of the country by going to http://maps.google.com/ Just type in anaddress or area and click on satellite in the upper right hand corner. I started playing around with it and looked up my mother-in-laws house out in the country. I found what appear to be several ponds in the hundreds of acres that surround her property. Now I can't concentrate on work knowing these ponds are so close and I have never fished them, or even knew they were there. I think this will be a great tool in finding new places to fish.

  2. Yea, I really like that site. It hasn't been up for too long. I love the way you can click and drag on the map to move it wherever you want and are also able to flip between aerial and map mode. I don't like the way it shows water as well as some of the other aerial sites though like (www.mytopo.com).
