looking for a thin wire minnow hook. anyone have any favorites?
there is some guy that sells hooks to Mogadore bait and tackle that are really nice, thin wire gold aberdeen hooks, i love them.
I have used number 4, 6 and 8 Eagle Claw No. 214 EL Aberdeen hooks for crappies, gills and perch for many years. The 214 EL is a thin wire gold hook
This past year I gave the Gamakatsu Octopus a try on the Emerald Shiners it did OK but Ill be going back to the No. 214s, the light wire on the Aberdeen did a little less damag.
Mustad also makes a nice Aberdeen hook.
BTW --- Seen a few guys out on the ice at Beaver Creek Res. today. Not sure if i'll ice fish it or use the long poles, it's about half open water.
I prefer the Tru-turn aberdeen # 4 & # 6 for crappie fishing , # 6 & # 8 for perch.
Mustad also used to make a really light wire aberdeen they called the cricket hook. The place I used to get them off closed so now I just use the tru-turns
