I was thinking of maybe trying below the dam tomorrow morning/afternoon. anyone been down there lately? how is the water flow?

  2. I CHECK THE FLOW MASTER AND THE WILL BE SHUTTING THE GATES DOWN
TUES. INTO WED. MORNING. I STOPPED DOWN LAST WEEK AND THEY HAD
TWO OPEN FULL TILT. NOT AS BAD AS LAST MONTH BUT TO FAST TO TRY THE WEST GATE. IF U PARK ON THE EAST SIDE AND WALK THERES ALOT MORE AREA TO COVER. IM CHECKING TO SEE IF THEY PERMIT SMALL CRAFTS TO FLOAT TO NEWTON FALLS.

no thanks, gotta work :(, but what kinda luck have you had there in the past?

  5. Jig, you should be okay floating the river if your "craft" has a shallow draft. I've fished that stretch of river in a friends 12' alum row boat before without anyone hassling me. There's alot of flallen timber and shallow runs you may have to deal with along the way if memory serves correct. depending on how far into Newton Falls you go, remember theres a lowhead dam downriver of the Covered Bridge by the old Rockwell Bumper Plant.
