Milky Blue Water Bass

Discussion in 'Southeast Ohio Fishing Reports' started by redhotbuzz, Jul 23, 2007.

  1. Seems like this time of year the deeper holes in the strip ponds I fish turn a milkish blue. I always thought it might be the clay bottoms and some sort of chemical reaction.... But damn it looks weird. Never thought fish were in there,,,After checking my minnow traps yesterday I had 3 big ole chubs and since there was pond nearby I took them with me instead of running back home and adding them to the catfish stock. Im glad I did .... After fishing that pond with with almost everything at my disposal I rigged an 03 with a 1/32 bullet sinker and dropped a chub in one of those blue holes. Damn line screamed off in about 25 seconds after hittin the water and a 4 lber was tail dancin all over the place. The next chub thrown in a different blue lagoon had the same results.. The question is what causes this milky blue water ?? cuz Im lookin at it in a whole different light..
