Mercury and PCB's

Discussion in 'Southwest Ohio Fishing Reports' started by Riverchub, Jun 4, 2004.

  1. I know there are certain lakes and rivers in Ohio they recommend you do not eat any fish from due to high mercury and/or PCB levels. Does anyone have some information on what fish are safe to eat from the lakes and rivers. Just out of curiosity do you all catch and release or keep most of them to fry up?

Oops. M.Magis beat me to it while I was looking it up.

Personally, I mostly catch & release, unless I'm fishing for walleye, salmon or trout (northern Michigan). I keep panfish sometimes, but usually just when I'm on vacation up north.
