Discussion in 'Northeast Ohio Fishing Reports' started by Sundance, Apr 16, 2004.

  1. I have recently moved to Elyria and would like to ply the local waters.

I am especially interested in Oberlin Reservoir, Wellington Res. and the Black River (for steelhead).

Do any of you have wisdom/experience you can dispense?

    It would be greatly appreciated.

    Don.

Don, I'm in Elyria and I fish the resevoirs. I don't fish the Black River as I believe the chances of catching a three eyed fish are pretty high. I have heard of steelhead being caught at the falls in Cascade park. Oberlin is good for crappie and there are bass, walleye and gills in the as well. Wellington Upper and lower, much of the same. You may also want to try FindleyState park and Spencer Lake. Good luck and maybe I'll see you out there.
