We(Flathunter & I) are in need of some Canoe stabilizers. I am willing to trade my Hunting Items, some fishing items, etc.... even cash if the price is right.

That canoe should be plenty stable. Just tie everything to the boat. LOL

Forget the training wheels (stabilizers)...spend some time learning to canoe - preferably with your canoeing partner (important). My friend and I have not dumped a canoe or my small jonboat ever that I can remember (20 yrs of paddling incl. some scary rapids). With that said, since you are a novice I would lash your gear down with bungee cords just in case. We have fished from all manner of small craft many times and never had a problem, and since you are using it mostly for transport to bank spots (something we do as well) you have very little risk of swamping your boat. The only really good piece of advice I can give you is never ever grab overhanging branches...you will be pulled out of your canoe. Also, keep your feet spread towards the sides..helps alot w/ stability and with paddling.

stablizers would only get in the way on a river. they are for a lake. not when running but when sitting. the boat becomes a platform. nice for drift fishing with a small, tense, little wife.

Tips for not tipping the canoe. Keep your center of gravity close to the bottom of the canoe. When things seem unstable, duck down. I've been in canoes that tip people out, and stayed nice and dry by staying low...and staying in the canoe. Also, in shallow water, if the canoe gets stuck in the rapids and turns sideways, try to step out before the current tips the canoe. -Hooch-

Springlake has 2 on ice right now. If you leave your name and number they will call when an anchor expires.
