Looking for a good Creek

Discussion in 'Canoes & Kayaks' started by RWBlue, Oct 12, 2005.

  1. With the leaves about at their peak, I am looking for a creek to canoe this weekend. I will either fish or hunt my way down the creek. If the creek has technical rapids, I may not fish or hunt my way down the creek, I may just paddle and take pictures.

It needs to be narrow enough to avoid the wind expected on Saturday.
It needs to have enough flow so I don’t have to walk.
If possible I would like to plan an over night trip.
If not in Central OH, I need to be able a canoe livery that is willing to transport me for a small fee.

I have already scouted a few prospects.
The Darby needs some more water to make it a good trip.
The Scioto is wide and I expect the wind will blow me all over the place.

  2. Any one know of a used canoe for sale? I'm looking for a lightweight one for waterfowl hunting. I am in Medina County but will travel a reasonable distance to pick one up.
