  1. Starcraft Marine announces contingency money for 2008 LEWT

The Western Basin Sportfishing Association (WBSA) and Lake Erie Walleye Trail (LEWT) are pleased to announce that title sponsor Starcraft Marine and supporting sponsors Cranberry Creek Marina and Vics Sports Center will be offering a total of $500 for any team that wins an LEWT event while fishing from a Starcraft boat that was purchased at either dealership.

“It is exciting to see our sponsors step up and offer additional money for the teams that support them” offered LEWT Tournament Director Matt Davis. “This gives teams the opportunity to go after another $2500 total for the year.”

Starcaft Marine has an extensive line up of boats from their STX 2050 tournament boat, which is a hard core fishing machine, to the Superfisherman and Fishmaster lines which both offer a multitude of flexibility for fishing and family adventures on the lake. They also have an extensive line of boats geared towards smaller waters and many different boating applications. Vics Sports Center is located in Kent Ohio and can be reached at 330-673-7600 and Cranberry Creek Marina is located in Huron Ohio and can be reached at 877-464-0172. If you are interested in a new Starcraft give them a call.

Here are the specific guidelines to be eligible for the Starcraft Marine LEWT Contingency Program:

    • Must fish the event out of a Starcraft boat that was purchased at Vics Sports Center or Cranberry Creek Marina by one of the two participating team members.
    • Must have the Starcraft Marine LEWT contingency form filled out completely and turned in prior to the start of the event.
    • Must win the event.

The WBSA is a Social based Club for fishermen and women that fish in the Western Basin of Lake Erie and its tributaries. Membership is open to all fisher people no matter what their location. Our goal is to present information in a manner that will help sustain and improve fishing in one of the greatest inland sport fisheries in the world. Scientific information, fishing techniques, locations and presentations will be presented at our monthly meetings by expert and knowledgeable speakers and tournament anglers in our group. These anglers are very open with techniques and methods and will help any member that is trying to learn new methods.
