While reading Bass Times I ran across a weight chart for bass I would like to share with you all. If You don't have scales here is an easy way to get an estimate.

    Length -- Largemouth---Smallmouth----Spot
    12-------- 0.90--------- 0.92--------- 0.86
    13-------- 1.16--------- 1.18--------- 1.12
    14-------- 1.47--------- 1.50--------- 1.42
    15-------- 1.83--------- 1.87--------- 1.77
    16-------- 2.25--------- 2.30--------- 2.18
    17-------- 2.73--------- 2.80--------- 2.65
    18-------- 3.28--------- 3.36--------- 3.18
    19-------- 3.89--------- 4.00--------- 3.79
    20-------- 4.59--------- 4.70--------- 4.46
    21-------- 5.36--------- 5.50--------- 5.22
    22-------- 6.22--------- 6.38--------- 6.07
    23-------- 7.17--------- 7.35--------- 7.00
    24-------- 8.24--------- 8.43--------- 8.02
    25-------- 9.35--------- 9.60--------- 9.14
    26-------- 10.06-------- 10.89---------- 10.38

Other weight estimates they gave were
    Lenght X Girth X Girth= Weight
    800
Another formula was said for those large california bass
    Length X Length X Girth= Weight
    1000
Just a few weight estimations I thought some of you might enjoy. Of course there will be exceptions and nothing replaces a good scale.

That chart just doesnt seem to make alot os since . :( We all know that a small mouth weighs less than a large mouth of equal length . You must be stuffing them with lead ! :D You gotta love it when I mess with ya ! :) Thanks for the info .

I thought the same, who knows the guy who came up with the chart may not know much about smallmouth but he is a biologist.

The 23.5 incher I have mounted was 7.5, but I did catch a 26 incher that only weighed 5 lbs or so. But like stated, there are exceptions! :)
