lake levels??

Discussion in 'Southeast Ohio Fishing Reports' started by saugeyeslayer1, Nov 1, 2004.

  1. I was told that MWCD is going to start draining the lake on the first of November and that they are going to lower the lake by eight feet.Does anybody know if this is true and why are they draining it so much this year??

As of now this is the tentative MWCD plan:

Atwood-start drawdown November 1, complete December 6, target draw-5 feet.
    Leesville-start November 1, complete December 6, target-8 feet.
    Tappan-start Nov. 1, complete Dec. 6, target-5 feet.
    Clendenning-start Nov. 15, complete Dec. 20, target-8 feet.
    Piedmont-start Nov.15, complete Dec. 20, target-5 feet.
    Seneca-start Nov. 15, complete Dec. 20, target 8 feet.

This can change if they see work that needs to be done on eroded banks, dam, etc..Originally I heard that Piedmont would start down the 1st but the Army Corps of Engineers guy that runs Tappan Dam brought this list to me yesterday so this is straight from the horses mouth. He stressed that this was "tentative" and was subject to change but so far this is it.
  3. Great info Corey! Thanks for posting it.
